Our Town reached out to let five-year-old Upper East Side artist Jazmine V. know she won this year’s Wrapping Paper Contest.

It’s a wrap: Our Town’s readers voted and chose Jazmine V.’s whimsical North Pole design as the 2022 Wrapping Paper Contest Winner. Check out the centerspead of this week’s newspaper, where it will be printed as wrapping paper to be used throughout the neighborhood this holiday season. What was your reaction when you found out you won?

Excited and also I did a lot of work so I’m happy I won.

I saw that your artwork included penguins with candy canes, are penguins one of your favorite animals?

No, I drew them because penguins live in the North Pole and I like candy canes, but not the regular ones I like colored ones!

What is your favorite thing to draw?

Animals and forests.

What are you most excited about the holidays?

That Christmas is coming up!

A Bluey House (from Bluey on Disney Channel)
