Teens (ages 13 to 18) are invited to stop by the library for an afternoon of crafting each Thursday in June. A summer reading kick off is planned for June 9 with plenty of prize giveaways, including lots of books. Snacks and drinks will also be provided. On June 16, use fabric markers and paints to decorate a tote bag you can haul your books around all summer. To close out the month, teens can make rainbow bracelets to celebrate Pride.

Keep your kids active this summer with the city’s free Kids in Motion program. Send your kids to a park playground for hours of free activities, including organized sports, games, fitness demos, board games, water games and more. The program is led by NYC Parks staff members. There’s no registration required, just drop your child at a participating park. Find the one closest to you, as well as the hours of operation, on the NYC Park’s website.

On Saturdays and Sundays until July 31, the Museum of the Moving Image will host a guided tour through an exhibition exploring the groundbreaking film and television work of Jim Henson. Through the exhibit, find out how Henson and his collaborators brought the characters and worlds of The Muppet Show, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock to life. The family-oriented tour will be led by a Museum educator, who will guide you through selected galleries of the exhibition. Interactive stations allow guests to try their hand at puppeteering and designing a puppet character. Groups meet in the cafe area at 3:00 p.m. The tour lasts 45 minutes.
