At seven in the morning, most middle schoolers are asleep in bed at home. However, at that hour, the girls of Robert F. Wagner Middle School’s basketball team are starting their 75 minute-long practice. The determination and hard work that they put into their sport is evident as it has helped them win the past two Middle School Athletic League (MSAL) Championships. This year, they look to be the first team to ever win three in a row. Coached by James Marty, the group of eighth graders each offer their own strengths to the dominant team.

The girls won their first play-off game on February 15th in a lopsided 43-23 win. Their next game took place on the evening of Friday, March 1st with a home court advantage.
