Elder Assault: on UES Subway, in Harlem Soul Food Restaurant

Whether underground and or in a popular local eatery, there’s no good time to get into an argument with a stranger. Sometimes, they can’t be avoided, however—where can run on a subway?— and disputation turns to violence before one knows it. Such appears to be the case in two recent East Side Elder Assault incidents. Details are as follows:

NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual wanted in connection with an elderly assault that occurred within the confines of the 19th Precinct/Transit District 4.

It was reported to police that on Friday, June 5, 2026, at approximately 8:20 a.m., onboard a northbound 5 train at the 86th Street subway station, an unidentified individual engaged a 64-year-old female victim in a verbal dispute. The unidentified individual then punched the victim in the face and fled the location on foot to parts unknown. The victim sustained a laceration above her right eye and refused medical attention.

The suspect is described as a medium complexion female with glasses. She was last seen wearing a blues sweatshirt with the number 76 and three stars upon it.

Senior Hit With Safety Cone at Soul Food Restaurant

Cops are asking for help identifying the individual wanted in connection with an elderly assault that occurred within the confines of the 32nd Precinct. Details are as follows:

On Friday, July 17, 2026, at approximately 7 p.m., inside Jacob Restaurant, 373 Lenox Avenue, at West 129th Street, an unidentified female individual engaged an 82-year-old female victim in a verbal dispute. During the dispute, the individual grabbed a yellow pedestrian safety cone and threw it at the victim, causing swelling and pain to right hand. The unidentified individual then fled the location on foot to parts unknown. The victim was transported by private means to NYC Health Hospitals-Harlem.

The suspect is described as female of medium complexion, likely Black, in her mid-20s to 30s. She is wearing a black and white Adidas ball cap; a black or navy jacket with white vertical stripes parallel to the zipper; grey stretch shorts; and flat black shoes, perhaps karate slippers. In one surveillance photo she is seen standing next to the buffet steam table. In another, she is seen exiting the restaurant.

Jacob Restaurant, Soul Food & Salad Bar is a popular local eatery. It’s red and white awning also advertises “oxtails, fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, collard greens, assorted fruit & salad.”
