Cleanup at Ruppert Park

The Friends of Ruppert Park participated in NYC’s “It’s My Park Day” May 21st, with 50 volunteers in the park cleaning up and planting summer flowers.

In addition, thanks to Assemblyman Dan Quart and Council Member Ben Kallos, five new Big Belly waste receptacles will be installed in the park in June to replace the current, outdated trash cans. Big Belly receptacles are not only rodent proof, they are solar paneled and compact the trash, alerting the city parks personnel when they are full and need to be emptied.

Ruppert Park is at 90th Street and Second Avenue.
