The Jazz Age Lawn Party is celebrating its 10th anniversary, hosted by Michael Arenella and His Dreamland Orchestra. The event celebrates the vibrant optimism and inventiveness of Jazz Age culture and offers packages from general admission to a Bonnie and Clyde pack for about $200 and a “Gatsby Table” for up to $900. The trip through time begins with a ferry ride that takes you to a sprawling green where you will find an antique gramophone exhibition, take dance lessons, view a collection of 1920s motor cars, enter a Charleston dance contest. There are also carnival games and activities for the kids.

For the seventh year, the Metropolitan Summer Recital Series will once again bring free outdoor recitals starring leading Met artists and rising young stars of the opera world with six performances across all five boroughs. The annual free Hudson River Rocks concert series on Pier 84 returns this summer with three shows on Thursday evenings. On July 9, it’s Waxahatchee and special guests; on July 23, it’s Scotland’s We Were Promised Jetpacks with Boston’s Krill; and on August 6, it’s ‘90s-indie lovers Yuck with new 4AD signee U.S. Girls. Each show opens at 6 p.m. Music starts at 7 p.m.

Top-name free music, dance and family fun for the 45th edition Lincoln Park Out Of Doors. The Muscle Shoals All-Star Band opens the series on July 22. Other performances during the three-week series include, Randy Newman, Lyle Lovett, the ABAKUA Afro-Latin Dance Company, a tribute to the late Geoffrey Holder and a special silent screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, where audience members will be outfitted with headphones.
