‘Of war and peace’

The Hunter College Choir, together with the BMCC Select and Downtown Choruses, will perform Joseph Haydn’s “Mass in Time of War,” excerpts from Britten’s “War Requiem,” Jenkins’ “Armed Man Mass” and other works at 7:30 on Friday, Dec. 9. The choirs and a full symphony orchestra, assisted by student soloists, will be under the direction of Paul F. Mueller, Matthew Rupcich and Eugenia Oi Yan Yau. Tickets for the performance, at the Assembly Hall of Hunter College, East 69th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues, are $12; $5 for children, students or senior citizens; and free for Hunter College students. The Hunter College Choir is a mixed chorus of 75 to 100 singers that performs repertoire from all periods. The ensemble is open to members of the New York metropolitan area and to all Hunter College students, staff and faculty. An audition is required, though prior choral experience is not a prerequisite.
