SAY WHAT?

Motherfucker. Offensive as that word might be, it's alternately pleasing to the downtown devotees of the similarly named, six-year strong NYC party that regularly delivers "upbeat music for downtown kids"-a refreshingly rocking event rooted in all things rock 'n' roll. For the upcoming July 3 MoFo party, hosted by MCs Misstress Formika and Peppermint Gummybear, the flyer for the bash also promises a "secret band performance" at 11:30. Wishful speculation is that the New York Dolls, who have performed at a previous MoFo party, will show. What is confirmed is the Steve Ellis art exhibit, Burnt Young Americans, and a celebration of the new Glenn Belverio book, Confessions From The Velvet Rope. The entire night willl also be filmed for David Casey's almost-finished-filming documentary about the club and its role in New York nightlife, aptly titled Motherfucker: A Movie.
