Seawright, Expert Panel to Discuss Domestic Violence

Community Board 8 event will take place Tuesday over Zoom

Manhattan’s Community Board 8 will be putting on a virtual panel discussion Tuesday, June 15 to address a rise of domestic violence in the city and offer resources to victims of such abuse.

The board’s Women and Families Committee has assembled a group of experts and local officials to take on the matter, including Upper East Side Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright, Assistant District Attorney Pamela Blandino, Witness Aid Services Unit staff members, Sgt. Sumay Lee of the 19th Police Precinct, as well as Karen Benjamin-Hamlet, who serves as the supervisor of the Victim Assistance Center in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. The group will discuss how to combat domestic violence and coping measures for survivors.
