    JA WOHL!

In response to "Inside Incarnation" (7/27), I would just like to say that there are a whole bunch of people in the medical profession in New York City and around this country who owe Dr. Mengele and the Nazis a heartfelt apology.

    Times Out

I want to thank you for having the courage to share this article. I encourage you to continue the fight to bring the truth to light, and in this case stop the abuse of those children at ICC (7/27). I was disappointed in the New York Times for playing down what is happening at ICC; and although I had been a loyal reader of their newspaper, I no longer will be.

    WMD in Miller's Panties

What is Russ Smith's beef with Judith Miller exactly (Mugger, 7/20)? After all, like him she helped hustle the American public into support of a disastrous war policy. Unlike him, she is a reporter and thus has a standard to fall short of, whereas he is a third-rate blowhard whom anyone with a grain of sense merely scrapes from the bottom of his shoe with scarcely a shrug.Ê

And what's with the vulgarity of the reference to Howell Raines having an accident in his silk drawers? I thought conservatives were supposed to use soap and hot water-this one needs his soap in his mouth. His nasty ageism with respect to Anthony Lewis et al. speaks for itself.Ê

    EVEN LUC MONTAGNIER?

Liam Scheff's story "Inside Incarnation" (7/27) is sound andÊrevealing, especially in comparison to the New York Times story from July 17, which is full of unfounded claims. The facts about HIV/AIDS are clear: HIV has not been proven, and it has never been proven that HIV causes AIDS. Even Luc Montagnier conceded. And the only thing that is sure about so-called AIDS drugs is that they are highly toxic and have deadly side effects.

    ROVE, THE OTHER WHITE MEAT

I am outraged that Matt Taibbi would dare to equate Karl Rove with a pig ("Death to the Hog," 7/20). A pig!? How dare you, Mr. Taibbi! The average pig is an intelligent, playful, kindly, loving and docile creature. Comparing that noble animal to someone like Karl Rove is a zoological insult.

    LIAR LIAR POLLS ON FIRE

The problems with Taibbi ("Highly Irregular," 7/27) begin with his unwillingness to accept the Constitution of the United States, to wit: The person winning the most electoral college votes, not the popular vote, is the president-elect. Bush won the Electoral College vote in 2000. He really did win Florida based upon eight recounts, including one done by the New York Times. Repeating the same song only serves to make people who do not read the Constitution feel they were cheated. Why does Taibbi keep repeating what amounts to a lie?

The exhaustive examination of Ohio, like the examination of Florida, produces the same result: Bush won. The little group in the basement can twist all the facts they want, but they cannot change the truth.

    RUSS & JUDY

Russ Smith should be languishing in jail alongside Judy Miller for his acts of criminal distortion and misquotation. Last week's column (7/20) contained some world-class bloopers. Like whenÊSmith quotes Paul Begala talking about the Bushies' "bullshit national defense."ÊHarsh words, yes, but when Begala talkedÊabout the Bushies "killing" us, he was talking about wrong-headed policies in Iraq that have led to nearly 2000 American deaths,ÊnotÊthe assassination ofÊpolitical enemies,Êas Smith stupidly suggests.ÊOne could easily be forgiven for thinkingÊthe latter, of course,Êfrom this Administration's habit of endangering lives by leaking the names of covert agents; that is, unlessÊ"one" isÊRuss Smith andÊone's mission in life is to give Ann Coulter a run for her money in buckshot liberal-hatred. No, we don't forgive people like that.

Russ, you're a jerk.ÊTry for once getting your news from someone other than Rush Limbaugh and you might be able to write a decent column.

    GOOGLING KLOSTERMAN

This Mark Ames you guys have writing is an idiot. Or at least that's my opinion, just like it's his opinion that Chuck Klosterman is a sex offender. I have no idea what sort of fucking rock this shitbag crawled out from under but my advice to him is to crawl back under it. Ames is freezing his ass off in Moscow writing small articles on the Internet (where anyone can write anything they want, anytime they want for whatever reason they want, and then prays like hell someone reads it and agrees; isn't that right, Mark?) while Klosterman is a senior editor of a legitimate popular music magazine (Spin) and has already authored two books and, when "Googled," shit about him pops up all over the place. And what about Mark? Like I said, freezing his ass off in Moscow still writing about a party that died more than a decade ago.

    BUT KLOSTERMAN LOVES FACIALS!

I take issue with the blatant misogynistic tone struck near the end of Mark Ames'Êessay regarding the work of Chuck Klosterman. The author reacts to Klosterman's damning of blatantly degrading practices in easily accessibleÊpornography by challenging the author's masculinity. I certainly would not expect anyone atÊthe Press to have read feminist philosophy, but you might consider it before endorsing patriarchy.

    BAUER SINGS THE BLUES

First off, J.R. Taylor, don't dole out advice on something you obviously know nothing about. Secondly, why don't you go see Sean Costello live before saying "he's one R & B cover away from Kenny Wayne Sheppard"? Sean embodies everything that Kenny Wayne isn't: He's been true to the blues in the purest sense and embraces the stylings of Hubert Sumlin, hence the joint showing. I hope you'll make amends for this completely disrespectful and inaccurate summary of a show that was bound to be historically and musically memorable. You may have kept some unlucky souls from seeing one of the best shows of their lives.

    Left, Right, Center?

    Excellent column, as usual. However:

"...The reasoning is that the Sox are "tired" of Ramirez's "act," meaning his occasional lapses of concentration playing right field and goofy clubhouse behavior. Sure, Joel. If the Pod still followed baseball, he'd probably agree with you..."

Of course, Ramirez plays LEFT field, not right field. But you knew that. (Just a little good-natured ribbing!)
