Gunpoint Robbery on East 86th Street; Public Lewdness on 4 Train

Cops are looking for help to apprehend two bald, brazen thugs who robbed a man at gunpoint in the 19th Precinct in the early hours April 25.

It happened at approximate 12:35 a.m., in the vicinity of East 86th St. and 3rd Ave. [If that address sounds familiar it may be because northeast corner of that intersection has frequently warranted coverage in Our Town. It was the long-time home to the famed hot dog and fruity beverage monarch, Papaya King. After a period of closure last spring and early summer, the throne has since relocated to near kitty corner location at 206 E. 86th Street.]

The victim, a 58-year-old male, was walking when he was approached from behind by two unidentified suspects. The alleged perpetrators grabbed the innocent man, pointed a firearm at him, and removed cash from his pants pocket. The two thugs then walked away to parts unknown. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

The first suspect is described as a male with light complexion. He was last seen wearing dark eyeglasses, a white shirt, gray hoodie, tan pants, and black sneakers.

The second thug is described as a male with dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark camouflage jacket with an orange Polo-like logo, white shirt, camouflage pants, and blue and black sneakers.

Both thugs appear to have shaved their heads.

Sexual Abuse on the Morning 4 Train

Another subway ride, another sex-related crime and, as is most often the case, the victim was a woman.

This time it happened within the confines of the 17th Precinct / Transit District 4. Details are as follows:

On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a 28-year-old female victim was riding a northbound 4 train at the 59 Street-Lexington Avenue station, when an unidentified male approached her and performed a lewd act, believed to be masturbation.

The individual then fled to parts unknown and though no injuries reported, the woman was upset enough to report the vile incident to police. The suspect is described as 5 feet 6 inches in height, approximately 150 pounds, with a slim build, and light complexion.
