MTA Bus Crashes Into Two Cars on Upper East Side

The accident occurred early in the morning of April 21 and injured one passenger.

An MTA bus crashed into two parked cars, overturning one, after the driver lost control of the vehicle early in the morning of April 21.

The incident occurred at 3:34 a.m on the Upper East Side on 1st Avenue and East 83rd Street. Police said the driver drove through several red lights before the crash, according to ABC7NY.

One passenger was on the M15 bus at the time, who sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention on the scene. The bus driver was uninjured but was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

The parked cars were empty at the time of the crash. An outdoor dining structure, which appeared to belong to the UES restaurant AOC East, was also damaged.

There was no arrest in connection with the incident at press time, but the NYPD and MTA are conducting and internal review of the situation.
